Tour of the gardens at Strawberry Hill

Horace Walpole’s delightful Strawberry Hill is the most famous surviving monument to the gothic taste. His little play-thing house  and gardens evolved over three decades from the early 1750s and became the chief setting for Walpole’s extraordinary collection of art, antiquities and objets d’art. The restoration project continues with much work  being done to the garden buildings and grounds to return them as far as possible to their appearance in Walpole’s day.
