Visit to the exhibition at the Museum of London

This major exhibition investigates the secrets of the Cheapside Hoard, an extraordinary and priceless cache of late sixteenth and early seventeenth century jewels and gemstones, discovered in a cellar in Cheapside in 1912. New research and technology has allowed fresh  insights  into Elizabethan and Jacobean London as a centre of craftsmanship and conspicuous consumption and the exhibition explores the mysteries of ownership and why it was never reclaimed.
