Visit to the Institution of Civil Engineers with Carole Morgan, Archivist, Institution of Civil Engineers

The magnificent new headquarters for the Institution of Civil Engineers was built between 1910 and 1913 in a lavish Edwardian Beaux Arts style to the designs of James Miller. The eclectic interiors include the Baroque-style imperial staircase, the Great Hall lined with giant pilasters in the style of Louis XVI and the seventeenth-century style panelling removed from Charles Barry Jr’s earlier building.
