Veronese was one of the most renowned and sought-after artists working in Venice in the sixteenth century and his works adorned churches, patrician palaces, villas and public buildings throughout the Veneto region. This spectacular exhibition brings together portraits, altarpieces, allegorical decorations and mythological works which reflect not only Veronese’s mastery of colour, space and light but also the exuberance, opulence and grandeur of Venice and its citizens.
