A tour of the gardens of Wrest Park with John Watkins, Head of the Gardens and Landscape Team, English Heritage
The formal canal and woodland garden, the eighteenth-century serpentine waterways, elegant pavilions and Chinese bridge and the Italian Garden and French Parterre of the 1830s, make up the magnificent gardens at Wrest, laid out by generations of the de Grey family from the 1680s onwards.
Visit to the Wrest Park Collection Store of architectural fragments
Free time to visit the House and Sculpture Gallery and tea
Wrest Park was rebuilt by Thomas de Grey in the French style in 1834-9 and the ground-floor reception rooms and magnificent staircase hall have been recently restored. The delightful dairy of c.1839 has been transformed into a sculpture gallery and displays many of the original statues that stood in the early eighteenth-century formal gardens.
