This delightful exhibition looks at the history of hats, bringing together the practical and symbolic and explores why hats are worn and how headwear is used to protect and transform, to make a statement and to mean something. It features work by celebrated fashion and performance milliners, including Awon Golding and Philip Treacy and highlights include an Italian raffia cycling helmet, Ghanaian ceremonial pieces, a bridal hat worn by Cara Delevingne in Vogue, Michael Keaton’s cowl from Batman and a lace mantilla worn by Queen Isabella II of Spain.
