This four-day visit is inspired by the exhibition, Louis XV: Passions of a King at Versailles which explores Louis’ diverse interests and his taste and role in the emerging Rococo style. Visits at the Palace of Versailles and in Paris will explore some of the fine buildings, interiors and furnishings of the mid-eighteenth century.

Programme

Planned visits at the Palace of Versailles include the special exhibition, the Petits Appartements and the newly-restored apartment of Madame du Barry and, in Paris, the Hôtel de Soubise, the Hôtel de la Marine on the Place de la Concorde and the newly-restored Richelieu-Louvois site of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France.
