Richard Boyle, 3rd Earl of Burlington - landowner, politician and patron - played a key role in the development of the Palladian movement in Georgian England. The lecture will trace his life and interests, in particular his passion for the revival of the architecture of the ancients through the work of the sixteenth-century architects, Palladio and Scamozzi.
