William Kent was a painter and protégé of Lord Burlington, and increasingly was sought after for his skills in interior decoration, furniture design, book illustration and his designs for landscape gardens. His oracle was so much consulted by all who affected taste that nothing was thought complete without his assistance.

The lecture will explore the genius of William Kent.
